The closest thing to “The Talk” that my parents ever gave me was in 8th grade when my dad sat me down and very seriously told me that he was worried about the progression of my interests because he didn’t want me to “turn into one of those Dungeons & Dragons geeks” and I feel like this says a lot not only about me but also about what issues my parents deem worthy of address

tagged as: he was so serious the whole time;  i'm still amused tbh it was like Nerd interventionism;  rolled a critical failure on that one though buddy;  i'm a versatile geek though not singularly a d&d geek;  history-lit-comic-miscRPG geek;  a geek of all trades;  except math;  never math;  i still think about this conversation a lot though just due to the sheer absurdity of it;  what would friedrich think;
